January 16, 2016

Tonight I went to the World Forum Theater in The Hague to see The Worlds Biggest Swan Lake by the Shanghai Ballet Company.. and oh my, it was truly breathtaking.
Since its founding in 1979, many young dancers of the company have won a total of 37 medals in various international dance competitions. So yes, this company is worth watching!

With 48 (!) dancing swans, this show is absolutely hypnotising in combination with the epic music by the great Tsjaikovski. Britisch choreographer Derek Deane did an amazing job, the whole performance feels very well balanced with all the pretty costums, music, décor, props and incredibly talented dancers. Seriously I didn’t see one mistake during the whole performance.

The last performance will be Sunday the 17th of January at 14:00h (I’m so sorry for mention this so late..!). Make sure to spread your wings and clear your agenda to check out these Chinese swans while you still can.
