Ever since a was a little girl, I love detectives. It all started with the good old German Commissaris Rex, then Baantjer, CSI (only Las Vegas, dvds, pc game and table game: check) and of couse the father of all: Sherlock Holmes (books and series, love it all). I even seriously dreamed about making career as a police investigator…
I like to solve puzzles and the thrill of it, so last week me and my 11 crazy friends dicided to take it to the next level: we went to the Amaze Escape Room!
The concept is simple: you will be locked in a room for a hour and you have to get out in time by finding glues, solve puzzles and problems. Sounds simple right? Well, The Amaze Room in Den Haag has a few cool theme room. But we tried something new: a double escape room, or as they call it: The Competition Room. Two rooms that look exacly the same, so your group splits up and you have to battle time and your friends (or should I say enimies?). How cool it that?! Your goal is to get the trophee first, it’s loked away in a transparant save straight between the 2 room. This type of escape room is the first one in The Netherlands with this concept and it’s so much fun!
During this game, it’s like your emotions take a ride on a very intens collercoaster; loads of fun, some stress, feeling stupid and excited all at the same time.
I can’t tell you all the details of the room of course, it will spoil the fun. But expect secret doors, a bunch of codes, locks, 3D projections, usefull hairdryers and multible WTF moments.
So we played and it’s hard to admit, but my team lost. Crushed hopes and dreams, no future Sherlock carreer for me. But, we will definitely be back to play the other rooms! And hey, you know what they say about practice. Am I right, Watson?
