About

Is that time of the year again: all you can eat kerststol!

At bakery Hans & Frans Hessing they sell the best stols (I don’t know this word in English, anyone?) you can imagine. I tried it when the bread was still warm.. the warm almond and raisins, so good! The brothers Hessing own 3 shops in town (40 years of baking already) they bake all their bread at the one at the Denneweg. They bake 7 days a week, so your bread is always superfresh!

Did you know that they also bake bread for the royal family? Maxima gave them her secret recipe for Argentine bread and they made it especially for her!

I visited the bakery a few weeks ago and we did a quick calculation with one of their bakers. With 3 people they bake around 5.600 loaves of bread a week! And during Christmas time it’s even more, holy moly!! Well, make sure you get one of their stols or other delicious treats or bread (Haagse Kakker is a very good one as well) these days.
