We love this man! If you walk across the Grote Marktstraat in Den Haag, you’ll probably hear this awesome man: Charles Edward Deely the 2nd, aka Chuck. Did you know that this 63 year old man is originally from Detroit (USA) and used to play in bands (whom were actually quite famous) for many years? He started his street performances in The Hague in 1994 and is an icon ever since, so in 2009 he received a prize for being the most famous musician in town. Creative film studio Papercuts made an impressive documentury about Chuck in 2010, which was featured at several national and international film festivals. Google for “Privilege” and you’ll find it. Last year, he earned a lot less, because of all the noise made by all the construction work. So next time you walk by, please pay a little attention too his songs and give him some money, so he can pay his rent!
