I’m always curious about old buildings and stories behind facades. I love this front, nowadays the face of Club Magistrat. The club will celebrate its first birthday on the 21st of November 2015, but the front is here since 1912.
Back in the days, this building used to be a cinema. This one was the first in The Hague; the Residentie-Bioscoop. Years went by and in 1924 it became Cabaret Florida, which was more a nightclub/dancing. In 1934 it became a movie theatre again, called Studio Theater. In 1979 the place turned in to a very sexy cinema, called Le Paris. But over the last 25 years the building is used as a nightclub again, such as Club Manjefiek, Le Paris, De Tijd and Deftig. I had one of my very first school parties here, oh sweet memories..
Now you can enjoy house en techno music in club Magistrat, so dance the night away!
