About

Grey, dark rainy days.. They need one thing: tea (ok, and Netflix)!

Sisters Claire and Lisa must have thought the same when they started Hug The Tea. This cuty little shop is specialised in all kinds of green tea. You can taste (by cup, pot and even shots!) them or buy them so you can drink them at home.

Green tea types like Gyokuro, Kabusecha, Sencha, Guricha, Kukicha, Genmaichi, Houjicha and Konacha are available. To be honest, I don’t have a clue what the difference is between all these types of teas, but the sisters know this, I’m sure about that. I wish I could tell you more about them, but when I visited the shop they where so busy helping all costumes, I just let them do their thing.

Other than tea, the ladies also sell all sorts of teapots, mugs, cups and… their own chocolate, called the Ooievaer!

As they say it themselfs: “it’s a family-run artisan chocolate brand that provides fine, single-origin cacoa butter chocolates in unique flavours following the artisan tradition of great chocolate masters”. Claire and Lisa want to let this choco bird fly worldwide, starting in The Hague.

Help reach these girls chocolate and tea dreams by paying them a visit!

I bought tea (the smoked one) here for my brother and he absolutely loved it!
