At this moment there seems to be some sort of positive invasion of cool or hip(ster) restaurants all over town. I would like to tell you more about Jamey Bennett Bar & Kitchen, perfect for breakfast, lunch, diner or cocktails!
This restaurant is located in the former Juliana’s building, in my mind Juliana’s was there as long as I can remember, but the old Juliana is on retirement now and the young, stylish and fresh Jamey took her place. Before I visited Jamey, I took a look at their beautiful website. “We love food” it says. I liked this Jamey straight away.
Jamey Bennetts menu
At Bennett they offer you a large variety of smaller dishes to share, what’s not to love about this diner concept? If you visit this restaurant with the two of you, you should order about five or six different ones.
I didn’t try everything on the menu yet, but there are a few things you should DEFINITELY order:
– Start with oysters fines claire, with beautifully orange G&T gelei;
– The raw tuna pizza with filo pastry and truffle mayonnaise (it’s like sushi had sex with pizza);
– The colorful crabcakes with avocado, lime and tomato;
– Pork ribs with cola glaze (!!) and macadamia nuts… speaking about foodporn.
Order one of their cocktails or G&T’s (12 different ones on the menu, whoohoo!).
I didn’t have lunch or breakfast at Jameys yet, but the menu looks promising. What about eggs hemingway (a poached egg, toast, salmon, spinach, hollandaise sauce), American pancakes (with maple syrup) and red fruit or farmers yoghurt (with fresh fruit, homemade granola and chia seed or coconut flakes)?
I like the interior of Jamey’s a lot! They have these amazing long Chesterfield coaches, retro plants on the tables and the ocean blue/aqua paint on the walls make this restaurant look bright and modern. What’s cool about this bar & kitchen, is that they have an open kitchen, you can see the passionate chefs in action while sitting at your table. All the dishes they prepare look fresh and super tasteful.
So yes, at Jamey Bennett they love food and I can say: I love Jamey!
